About Matchiko.

One whisk, one bowl, and a dog who wouldn’t leave the kitchen.

One house, in Uji, since 1704.
Both leaves come from Marukyu-Koyamaen, grown in the shade, milled on stone, and graded for the bowl, not the bag. We buy small and often, so what you drink is never far from the mill.

Matchiko started with a single tin from Uji and a stubborn belief: good matcha doesn’t need much.

Clean milk, an honest sweetener, and someone to whisk it properly. The stand is where we prove it, one weekend at a time. This site is how you find us. The little shop comes later.
